Customer Information Services
Finrail produces nationwide passenger information services for rail traffic on the display and public announcement devices at train stations and platform areas.
Finrail’s passenger information services are responsible for providing the timetable and track display data and station announcements at the right time, with the right content. Finrail’s passenger information serves hundreds of thousands of train passengers on a daily basis in the whole of Finland.
Passenger information comprises information on train traffic, its schedules and possible disturbances, directed at passengers. Finrail produces passenger information nationally at a total of 180 stations. The announcements are produced mainly in Finnish and Swedish. At larger stations, announcements are available also in English. The announcements of Russia-bound services are also provided in Russian.
The Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency purchases the passenger information services from Finrail Ltd.
Real-time passenger information services require a customer-oriented approach and precision around the clock, on every day of the year.The provision of passenger information is the responsibility of the customer service staff and traffic controllers.
In Helsinki, the provision of passenger information is the responsibility of the customer service staff, who produce information using, for example, announces and by displaying textual information. In other part of Finland, the provision of real-time passenger information is the responsibility of traffic controllers. Information is provided in three languages: Finnish, Swedish and English.
