Neste Rally Finland requires traffic arrangements in Central Finland between 31 July and 4 August

Neste Rally Finland, which is part of the World Rally Championship, takes place in Jyväskylä on 1–4 August 2019. The event is one of the largest annual public events in the Nordic countries and it is expected to attract more than 270,000 spectators this year. The four-day race will also affect the traffic arrangements in the area. You are advised to find out about these arrangements in advance.

Neste Rally’s impact on traffic will be visible starting Wednesday, 31 July, with occasional traffic jams expected, especially on roads leading to Jyväskylä. The public is advised to anticipate delays and consult the race organiser’s stage-specific instructions when approaching the area.

The Neste Rally will kick off with the Harju special stage at Jyväskylä city centre on Thursday evening, 1 August. The biggest traffic impacts will be in the city centre, Mäki-Matti, Harju and Lutakko. Queues are expected to form on roads 18/23 approaching Jyväskylä from the direction of Keuruu.

Friday morning, 2 August, will see the special stage of Oittila, followed by the stages of Moksi, Urria, Ässämäki and Äänekoski. Occasional traffic jams are expected in the regions of Korpilahti, Petäjävesi, Äänekoski and Laukaa. In the evening, the second Harju special stage will also cause occasional queues in Jyväskylä.

The third day of the rally, Saturday 3 August, will begin in Pihlajakoski in the morning, followed by Päijälä, Kakaristo and Leustu. This will impact traffic in the regions of Jyväskylä, Korpilahti, Jämsä and Kuhmoinen.

The rally will end on Sunday, 4 August with the special stages of Laukaa and Ruuhimäki, both driven twice. Queues are expected to form on the roads leading to Laukaa, Lievestuore and Vaajakoski and, as the rally ends, also in Jyväskylä, including the exit routes.

Detailed instructions on the traffic arrangements for all special stages can be found in the Official Programme and at https://www.nesterallyfinland.fi/en/route/access-instructions/
